Citizens of Wisconsin 6 -- Scott Walker 0

People for the American Way

Mark down six more victories on the road to Recalling the Right.

Yesterday, in part because of the support and work of PFAW members and activists like you, all the real Democrats in the Democratic recall primary to unseat Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's right-wing allies in the State Senate won. Republicans had run fake Democrats against the legitimate recall challengers in order to force the primary election and buy themselves more time.

Now, we need your help to meet our campaign's voter contact budget and send right-wing Republican state senators packing on August 9. Can you keep the fight going with a generous donation to PFAW's Recall the Right campaign today?

Because of progressive supporters like you, Democratic candidates are now on good footing for the August 9 general election to unseat Gov. Walker's Senate lackeys, but yesterday gave us a glimpse of what we're up against.

  • Our side is being outspent with big corporate money pouring into the defense effort for Wisconsin Republicans.
  • In some districts yesterday, Republicans and right-wing groups handed out misleading flyers attacking the legitimate Democrats in the primary.
  • The right-wing Club for Growth is running dirty ads against two Democrats saying they "cut SeniorCare" in the budget they passed in the Assembly, although the program remained fully funded -- the enrollment and cost of the program simply went down.
  • Tea Party groups like the Texas-based Patriot Advisors and Americans For Prosperity have reportedly been urging conservative Wisconsin voters to hit the polls and vote for the fake Democratic primary candidates.
  • And to top off the list of dirty tricks, reports have surfaced that yesterday, during the primary, a right-wing "Right to Life" group was deceitfully robocalling Wisconsin Democrats telling them not to go to the polls, and instead to stay home and wait for absentee ballots (when yesterday was in fact the final day to vote for the primary and following those directions would have cost people their vote).
This is just a taste of what we're up against ... and we know it will only get worse heading into the August 9 general election.

Please help us keep the momentum and Recall the Right in Wisconsin, and then stop the Republicans' war on the middle class once and for all. Donate now.

Sincerely,

Randy Borntrager, Political Director

P.S. While the Democrats we're supporting are staying afloat mostly on small grassroots donations, two of the Republican incumbents have raised more than all six Democratic challengers combined. Their corporate war chest is never ending, and national right-wing organizations are rallying behind their incumbents. We can't let them win. Contribute now and help us Recall the Right.
